Yesterday, Light In The Dark became available for preorder on iTunes. With the launch of the preorder, we also started a series called "28 Days of Posts", where over the the next 28 days (27 now) I will post all 14 songs, from the record, and give a little back story on each. So, here we go.
The first song on the record is called 'Don't Sink My Ship'. I got the idea for the song after reading an article on John Mayer and how he was dating this girl. He had kind of just broken up with her, and she was completely devastated, so she wrote a song bad mouthing him and sang it to her 100 million fans. John went on to say something to the effect of "I don't want to sink any body's ship, but that's bull $#!%". As soon as I read that, the light bulb went off.
Of all the songs on the record, I think I wrote this one the fastest, and one of my favorite parts of the song is the dobro solo.
Note: Pre-order the album before April 22nd, and get over $40 in extras! Head over to the Pre-Order page, on the website, to claim your extras.
